Teacher’s Day

From olden days teachers have been given a special status in our country. Dr. Radhakrishnan who was born on September 5, 1888 was one of the outstanding intellectuals of the 20th century. This great statesman, politician and philosopher significantly contributed to the cultural thought of the world. As a teacher, he set an example for others to emulate. It is significant that his birthday is observed as ‘Teacher’s Day’ on 5th September every year.

In our school, students celebrate this day in a grand manner with a plethora of events like quiz, treasure hunt, dumb charades, anthakshari to name a few. It is a role reversal where students take complete charge. Students come up with brilliant ideas and excellent team work to organize and conduct a great show for the teachers. Teachers participate with great enthusiasm, and engage in healthy competition.

The first Saturday of September is reserved for teachers to unwind completely. The teaching and non-teaching fraternity have a frolicking time on a day’s picnic organised by the school which rejuvenates their minds and helps them bounce back with new-found vigour and enthusiasm.
