Rajkumar Makam (Batch of 1980) is an engineer with an MBA from Yale. He embarked on a career in Investment Banking with Bank of America and subsequently in Investment Management. He is now the Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager at Oaktree Capital, a leading investment managing concern with assets totalling more than $100 billion. Mrs. Meenakshi Balakrishnan had once remarked that he had to find something that he was really good at and something that he would enjoy doing. These words had a lasting impact on him, inspiring him to be an expert in the field of direct lending.
