Akarsh Prabhakara (Batch of 2014), has a B.Tech degree, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Inspired to be creative and solve problems, a key highlight from his research so far, which is socially impactful, is a tyre-wear sensor that he designed in collaboration with Bridgestone Inc. In the future this sensor, when integrated in personal vehicles, has the potential to save lives. His time at Kumarans has had a lasting impact on his thought processes, and he vividly recalls the amazing interaction he had with teachers and fellow students here.
