Dr. Sudarshan Pinglay (Batch of 2009) has a BS in Biology, BA in Philosophy from John Hopkins University, and a PhD in Biology from the New York University School of Medicine. He is fascinated by the diversity in the natural world and the understanding of how we can interact with it more intimately. Outside of science, he is on the board of Clear Direction Mentoring, working towards mentoring underprivileged students interested in pursuing science. Inspiring teachers, encouragement to explore outside of the classroom, a strong work ethic, and strong moral convictions are what Kumarans has given him.
